About the Practice

Your trusted local dental practice in the heart of Shirley, Solihull.

Shakespeare Drive Dental Centre was originally established in 1936 by a dentist called Norman Appleby, who purchased the building and ran his dental surgery in what would have otherwise been the dining room. The first official record of the practice is thought to be a listing in the Dentists Register for 1942.

The practice has, naturally, evolved over the last eight decades and seen many changes, predating the National Health Service before acquiring an NHS contract to provide general dentistry, before the practice "went private" in 2007. Through all of these changes, there have been patients who have attended for their whole lives, with four and even five generations of patients all receiving dental care at Shakespeare Drive.

The current custodians of the practice are Luke and George Savva, who continue to modernise the care provided and ensure the practice will still be a success on its 100th birthday, and beyond!
