Hygienist Service

1 Educate

The first time you visit the hygienist is the most important. Showing you the areas which you could improve on with your brushing and the full range of aids for cleaning in between your teeth is coupled with a "gross scale" to remove built-up plaque and tartar (calculus) so you can clean more effectively.

If you are a member of one of our affordable care plans, these visits become routine and are included within your plan.

The process of oral hygiene instruction and education is ongoing throughout your life and we will always make sure you have the skills and techniques needed to look after your gums and teeth.

2 Improve

After the initial hygiene visit, further visits are recommended according to your needs if necessary.

These appointments may include measuring the improvements in your gums since your last visit, a detailed "fine scale" of the teeth, or a deep clean of any gum disease pockets.

As always, care plan patients benefit from a 20% discount on any treatment needed to improve gum health and enable you to keep your teeth spotlessly clean.

3 Support

Once your treatment is finished we make sure you continue to maintain your healthy gums.

Routine hygiene visits are included as part of our monthly care plans.

For patients with more severe gum disease, supportive treatment may include measurement of gum pockets and plaque deposits on the teeth, which is included as part of our Perio Plan Plus care plan.

The hygienist service is collaborative and runs seamlessly alongside your dental care. Hygienists may apply varnish to strengthen your teeth and keep an eye on early tooth decay in order to complement the preventive care advised by your dentist.
